Rose Parade Seeks Grand Marshal Nominations and Parade Entries

Join us in celebrating the 57th Annual Jackson County Rose Parade and Picnic in the Park on Sunday June 7th, 2015. The parade starts at 1:00pm and the Picnic in the Park will start immediately after the parade.   The parade route will begin on South Jackson and Mason St. (near Austen Park) and continue to the Middle School at Parkside.   This year’s parade theme is “Sizzlin’ Summer”.

We would like to thank all of the sponsors that make this tradition possible, especially Art Moehn Chevrolet (Presenting Sponsor), American 1 Credit Union and Consumers Energy and TAC (Division Sponsors), Lloyd Ganton Retirement Centers (Grand Marshal Sponsor). Your continued dedication and support provide the City of Jackson with the opportunity to celebrate our community through this event year after year.

To view a complete list of sponsors, or if you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please visit the Rose Parade website: www.JacksonRoseFestival.org .

Part of the Jackson County Rose Parade tradition is selecting a Grand Marshal. Individuals nominated for Grand Marshal are residents who have given back to the Jackson Community through service to their city, county, state or country. There are so many Jackson residents who make a difference for this community, and it is important that our citizens have a voice in the selection of the Grand Marshal. Nominations for Grand Marshal are being accepted and can be submitted on our website (www.JacksonRoseFestival.org).   Simply click on the Parade tab, then the Grand Marshal nomination, enter your Grand Marshal candidate’s information and click submit.

Have a great idea for a parade entry? There is no fee to enter! We would like to have more than 100 entries this year, so get your creative minds together and enter a float for this year’s Sizzlin’ Summer theme! The more entries, the better! Trophies will be awarded to float entries for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as an honorable mention. All types of entries are welcome, forms and information may be obtained on our website (www.JacksonRoseFestival.org).

The Picnic in the Park will take place immediately following the Rose Parade at Ella Sharp Park. Festivities include free face painting, a coloring tent, various food concessions, a NCCS Sanctioned Corvette Show; Touch a Truck, and the Fire Truck Pull. Teams of 10 can enter the Fire Truck Pull for a $100 registration fee at our website (www.JacksonRoseFestival.org). First team to the finish line wins!!!!
